WE DAY!

Hello readers,
So the greatest thing happened to day you don't even know! I went to We Day which is a big kind of concert with lots of guest speakers and such that let all the youth of today in cities across the Canada aware of how they can change the world because we are the future. It is run by the Free the Children Foundation and I got to tell you, it was a really amazing event. Craig Kielburger founded the Foundation at only 12 years old, being shocked by a story he read in the newspaper while searching for comics. It was a story of a young boy, Iqbal Masih, who was sold into slavery in South Asia at the age of four. He managed to escape but he decided that his freedom was not enough. There was so many others who had had their freedom stripped from them and he couldn't just turn around. He stood up for what was right and made a stand. At the young age of 12, Iqbal returned to Pakistan, his home country, and was shot and killed. Craig, a small boy of 12, knew that there was just not something right about this and decided to make a change. He said today, how nervous he was to stand in front of his grade seven class with the crumpled up newspaper article in his hand. All he asked was, who will join me stop this? Eleven people rasied their hands. Eleven people and only eleven people raised their hands to say they would support him. That is all he needed. Eleven hands. Free the Children  went on to do great things and as you can see We Day is one of them. I had the great opportunity to go and see this event which really helped me be inspired, not lose hope and make a change. Please I want you guys to tell me your thoughts ideas and comments to really help me plan a better future because We Day has inspired me SO much and I know that we all can make a change just like Craig did with those eleven hands that were raised.

Their are more coming....

So f/blog/1971076/Follow my blog with bloglovinirstly just wanted to say that all my items are up and priced on artfire. Visit
http://www.sweetiepie232.artfire.com/ to view the prices and just contact me if you are interested in buying. I said that I would be updating you on things so here I am updating you. I have some more products here that I really want to show you. Here they are.

This is Memories of Aphrodite. Inspired by the beauty and elegance of the greek goddesses, this is a very elegant piece which is right now my personal favourite. Remember that this is a recycled line so I will have you know the petals are made of duct tape which I really like because the give a shine to them. With the elegance of the piece, you too  can look like Aphrodite, Goddess of Beauty and Love.

This next piece is really cute and just so nice looking and good way of wearing jewellry in an elegant way. This is a feather, layered with a duck tape leaf, and then a pearl on top of it all. I really think that the elegance of it all is cute and affordable style.

This last piece are my mini Minnie Mouse bows. These pieces are made entirely out of duct tape and are actually not inspired by Minnie Mouse at all but the invisible cat from Alice in Wonderland. I know it sounds weird but funny enough it is true. The stripey bow you see here looks like the cat from Alice in Wonderland. The colours are not the same but the whole idea I love probably because it is more personal knowing that the inspiration very unique.

So there they are. Just look at http://www.sweetiepie232.artfire.com/ and you can see the prices although the shipping is a bit weird so just email me and I have all the info you need to purchase an item. Thanks for reading and here is your running tip of the day.

Running Tip 2
Make sure you get a good nice sleep before you run a long run in the morning because trust me, the outcome is not good and you will have crappy run!!

thanks for reading!!

Ready or not but here it comes!!!!!

Hello all readers and boy do I have a surprise for you. I am going to be giving you a sneak peak to my recycled line of stuff I have been working on so please feast you eyes on these photos of all these products made out of recycled materials. They are good for the environment and for your image as well. Looks like everybody wins!
These are the duct tape hair pins that are made entirely out of duct tape except for the beads in the middle. Each one is securely fastened to a hair pin so it is easy to slide into your hair.

This one below is a duct tape purse that I made. Surprisingly enough it is very sturdy having 6 card pockets, a pocket for change, ID case and a slot for your cash. I have one myself and adore the fact that I  know it is stylish and safe for the environment.

And last but definetly not least is this funky necklace I made out of newspaper with some beads in the middle. The chain is some string and it is super sturdy because the newpaper is coated with a acrylic meduim. It is light weight and cute. Very unique and different from the rest.

So that is a sneak peak on a few of the items and  Iwill be adding more during the week. Please check out my website http://www.bitsbobsandbows.webs.com/ for more information and the prices and such. These items will be very cheap because they are made of recycled materials. Hope you liked and I really need your feedback so give me a comment and it will be greatly appreciated. You guys are the ones I am selling to, so might as well tell me what I am doing right and wrong!!! Pce out girl scout -E

Time to make some changes around here........

Hello all, hello.
Let me tell you it has been a hell of a week. So much has happened in such a short period of time. So lets start with the matter at hand which is still in working progress. Bits Bobs and Bows is having a little renovation in its stock I have to say. So over the last month I had posted random items on there not following a certain theme and I just realized that that is no way to run a business. Their has to be an idea that each product is feeding off of or a branching off of, just like a tree. So I used this last month to my advantage to find out which products were most popular in my stores and which, well, weren't. I found that my magazine Hair Bow, which is featured in a couple blogs down, is the most viewed know. I was so happy because that is the product that I adore the most out of all of them and it is so cool and mega unique. Thats when I decided that I needed to take the design I loved most and that was popular and embrace it. Take it the next level. So I did. As we speak (well not exactly) I am working on my first collection of recycled accesories. I have lots of magazine items that are really unique and quite different. I also have lots of duck tape, newpaper and various other recyclable items that you might find interesting if you wanted to add a little flair to your hair. Boy, I am excited though. I have learned from watching the greatest (Louis Vuiton, Marc Jacobs, Stella Mccartney, Oscar De La Renta ) runway shows known to woman that it is not the one dress that captures you. It is not the one pair of shows that really sucks you up into the whole thing. It is the theme. It is what the whole show is revolving around. So taking that these people are quite successful (quite being an understatement ) I am going to make the most out of my business and really try and get this money to go the the Domincan Republic.

Second on the list of my hell of a life (not really), I am doing a half marathon for my personal project and to get people to sponsor me. The thing is, is that I haven't been documenting my progress that much so here I am starting today. I am doing a half marathon in October really just because I love running but also because it is all the more reason you should just think about sponsoring me :). So just on Sunday I did my longest run yet. 18 km!!! I was so proud of myself because 3.1 more km and it would be a half marathon. I had a really good run to which is the most important part about running. You HAVE to pace your self because 2 hours is a long time so there is a point where you feel like you are on the moon and you could just dance till the finish line and if that is before the half way point, don't go. You have to wait because chances that is just adrenaline kicking in and it is not going to stay forever. It just kind of pops in for tea and is gone before you know it. So from doing my very first half marathon I want to inspire people that you can do anything even at my age of 15 because one day we are going to be the people ruling the world and paying the taxes so why not get I head start on making a change? So I want to share what I have learnt on this weeks run with you in little running tips.
Running Tip # 1
When you run you need to work all your muscles throughout the whole thing. When you are on the flat you need to run heel to toe, and also on the down hill. On the up hill you have to run on your toes and take shorter strides, keeping an upright upper body position so your breathing is fluent and continious. Hope some people take my advice and see ya later!!! -E

I know sad right but my time will come and with about 200 hits I know that people are actually looking at my stuff which makes me feel happy! I really love doing it though knowing that with every item sold is going towards such a good cause and will help me with my project. Well now that I know I have readers that means I will be posting stuff more often and for any questions please email me @ ella_4561@hotmail.com or visit my site www.bitsbobsandbows.webs.com or www.oneisoftenenough.webs.com for more info. Sorry I couldn't do any posts this weekend. I was in Whistler with my friends. But I have something to say that really frustrates me. I am just as kid as you all know. And I feel really stupid that I am refering to you all as my readers but I don't have any so this is kind of pointless. But I am not one to give up so I am not giving in until I have some followers. Any way for anyone who is reading, I set up a website where I can showcase all my works. I am just finishing it up  so I will post the address later today or tommorow. It is alot easier to see my photos on the website than it is on this blog so I would love it if you would look at it as soon as I post the address. PLEASE can someone post some comments and give me some feedback?? I feel like I am wasting my time but I am not going to stop until someone tells me I am. PLEASE I am begging you. I need some feedback fast because I have 3,500 dollars to raise and I could be doing something else. Thanks for ever might be reading this. Pce out girl scout-E :(

Make A Statement.

So, did you see the picture in the post below? Those are some of many things that I make. They are pretty cute. Even if I say so myself. They are fabulous little accessories that can dress up any outfit. Wearing one of those can guarentee that you will make a statement. And guess what? At any other store they would probably cost 5 to 7 dollars. But I am selling them for 3 to 5 dollars. Even better, the money is going to sending me to help others so nobody needs to worry about where the money is going. If you want to know in further detail where the money is going, then you can go to http://www.heroholiday.com/ where it tells you all the about the trip and what your money will be going towards. So I am going to set up a paypal machine in a couple days on the blog and I will put all the things I am selling so will actually be able to see some of my creations. Sorry but I need to ask you readers something. I am quite new to this so how do I make an album of pictures and how do I set up a paypal machine. I sound like such a newbie but if you guys could help me out a bit that would be fantastic. Expect the pictures to be up this weekend and please support me on my journey! Peace out girl scout.-E

The Beginning.

Ever thing must start from somewhere right? So I am decided to start today. My name is Ella Adkins and I would love to leave a mark on the world. It doesn't matter how big or small, just a little something for people to remember Ella was here. I decided to start by helping others that need our help. This is the first of the many things I am going to do in the future to help others. It all started when I joined the Global Initiative group at my tiny high school in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This group is focused to do things that can make our world a tiny bit better. And it is the small things that count right? They have an annual humanitarian trip that many people participate in and this year I was picked to go a long to the Dominican Republic. The trip is in Spring Break of 2011 but I thought to make it my own little project to document my progress on raising 3,500 dollars. To most people today, that isn't a lot of money but to a 14 year old girl such as my self, well to raise all my self is a bit of a challenge. So for the next year I need to get my hand dirty and figure out how to do it. My first attempt will be to sell my ever so famous hand made head bands (notice how the title of my blog is A Little Flair to Your Hair) and sell them. They are pretty cute hair pieces and if you want to make a statement it is $3.00 that you will not regret. And say you are one who likes to keep on the down low, there is something there for you too. They are the lastest thing and I would love if you could support me in my journey. Peace out girl scout.-E
